Tank is 25 inches and weighed in at the vet a month ago at 72lbs. I would say he's probably at 70lbs now, because I'm watching his intake more because the vet says he's fat. I don't think he looks too bad, but he says his weight is too much for a boxer. Poor Tanky, dieting like mommy now. LOL Does 70lbs sound to heavy for his height?
if your vet says Tank's fat, then I'd wager he might need to loose even more than the vet said. Lots of vets don't speak up unless the dog is pretty chunky, and many vets don't seem to know how lean boxers should be.
Dash is the same height and just hit over 50lbs recently (he's 2+ yrs).. now, he's definitely on the thin side, but he's not skeletal. Adding 20lbs to his frame would make him obese. Adding ten would probably make him chunky.
I would guess that your boy would be good at 60lbs, but that's just a guess based on his height. (To keep from totally hijacking this thread, I'd suggest you post pic of him standing from the side and from above in the General Health section so people can give you their input)

Willie, at 16 months, is very thin, about 25" tall and weighed 61 pounds last Monday. All his ribs and part of his spine show...but his muscles show too. He reminds me of a body builder...with all his muscles defined and showing.

It depends - how old is he? Can you see his waist (after his ribs is there an indentation before his hips) or the outline of any ribs?
I don't think we can give you a correct weight based on the height of the dog - that is going to vary by dog, the amount of bone they have, their frame, muscles etc. Picture are always best.
I agree with what was already posted though - if your vet thinks he needs to loose weight then he probably REALLY does need to. From my experience most of the dogs that my vet sees are grossly overweight. Whenever they see my dogs they go on and on about what great condition/weight they are in - even Star who in my opinion could probably loose a lb or two.

Brandy - Nika (Griff's sister) is a BIG girl. I would bet that she is about the same height as Trigger and probably weighs about 55 - 60lbs already. She has tons of bone and just lots of substance.
Holy crap...how is is possible that she is SO much bigger than Griff? I swear he gets plenty to eat (he's been getting 4 cups of kibble a day for quite awhile...and I leave it up to him whether or not he wants to finish every meal)!! Just seems weird that one of the females would be THAT much bigger than Griff...he was the biggest pup in the litter!!
I feel like it's my fault...like I didn't feed him enough when he was younger or something and I stunted his growth.
Sheesh.
From the last pics you posted of Griff I think he looks GREAT. I know it's hard to tell and hard to wait. I know people always guess and say "oh he's gonna be big or small..." Pups esp at that age can be lanky. Sophia looked like a starved giraff at 6-7 months. He could even have a growth spurt soon too!
Sophia's a tall girl but very light boned. She's about 23.25" tall and weighs in the range of 51-53lbs.
She did not even hit 50lbs until she was 2. She's always looked little and thin.
Strummer is 58lbs and about he same height as Sophia (22.25"). He deff could gain a few pounds. He's got a lot more bone than Sophia and it built very sturdy. They are built very different from each other. Sophia is elegant and Strummer is a tank. I'm slowly try'n to get him to gain a little more. When he was sick he lost some weight. Oh, He was not the biggest or smallest in the litter-right in the middle I suppose. Noah was and prob still is the biggest. Trigger was bigger than Strummer at 8-9 weeks too. Based on his parents, I don't think he'll get very tall, prob 24" MAX and I'm guessing mid to high 60's in weight.
As long as he's healthy and happy then so am I.

I'll try and get a side photo of him and post it on the general health part. I don't think he looks that heavy. I know he needs to loose a few pounds because he has a little layer of fat over his ribs. However, the vet pointed out another boxer that was there that day that was just a year old and had his ribs showing (which I know is typical for a young boxer to be a bit lanky) and said Tank should look like that. Tank turned 2 in August.

Ribs showing is not just a lanky puppy thing.. at least some ribs should show even on an adult. Remember to get a standing side view and an overhead - the overhead will show if he has a "waist" or not.

This particular puppy had all the ribs showing, most adult boxers don't have all of the ribs showing. I know he's supposed to have a few showing and I know he does need to loose some weight but I don't think he's obeise by any means. I just don't want to cut down his food too much because he doesn't eat to much as is now. He gets out and runs like a crazy man quite a bit too. I don't know. We'll see I'll take pictures, which isn't easy with him. And I'll post on the general health part. Sorry for the hijack everyone.

Zoe's still ribby and spiny. Darn girl just will not gain weight (and yes, she's worm free and had a great check up last month). She's right around 21-1/2" or so (she's squirmy) and weighs 46lbs. And she just turned 3 years old in October.
Waylon's my beefy boy and I think I want him to drop a couple of pounds now. He's close to 24" tall and weighs roughly 65lbs give or take a few. He's due for a check up soon, so not exactly sure. His last ribs are just barely noticeable. But he has a good profile and tuck up, IMO. He's always been broad chested and muscular, so I don't think he's fat by any means, but could lose 3lbs or so and look better. And he'll be 3 in April '09.
