Beas might have mild SA
«

Oh boy...so now I work 10 mintues from home and this week (on Monday and today) I came home for lunch to let Beas out and snuggle him a bit.
SOOO...on Monday after I got home the "dog blanket" (the blanket we have on top of our comforter) was off the bed and the belts to our robes were on the floor (this happens pretty frequently-we figure its cause he misses us and they smell like us).
Then today...I came home to find my brand new robe shredded (still on the hook though). It's got a big old hole in the side and the shoulder has a hole in it where his tugging ripped it on the hook and of cours the belt was on the floor. It was like he was tugging it to get it onto the floor so he could cuddle it.
Any suggestions on working through his SA (I mean besides not having the robes on the hooks behind the doors anymore)?

I'd actually be more inclined to think it was bored/bratty behavior than SA. Robe belts dangle and are probably fun to play with... he just took the play to the next logical step. That's my guess, and moving the robes would probably do the trick.

I agree with Julia - just sounds like a normal boxer occupying their time when they aren't in the crate. I thought you crated him, or had an x-pen? Did you advance to letting him have free roam?

You don't fuss over him when you leave, right? It does sound a little like SA to me.
Maybe go back to the start. Leave him in the bedroom while you are home for 5 mins, then 10.
Then maybe try to leave the house for 5min, then 10mins. When you do let him out, ignore him for the first few mins.
We had a similar prob with Sophia but were able to work through it. We bought the small book "I'll be home soon" and it had some other great tips.
Poor Beaseter.

well I don't make a big fuss when I leave...usually it's "mommy will be back soon give kiss" and then done...Though we have made a big deal when we get home...which I didn't do today and he actually seems pretty calm this evening

Sounds like you might have found your "cure"
Guess he just needs a little more calm.

I'd say work on not making a fuss when you leave or get home first. That may be all you need.
