I spent the day making "Mack's (World Famous) Meatloaf" in 3 varieties for a Pet Faire next weekend, Turkey, Buffalo and Seafood.
The reason it's "world famous" is because we entered it on a 'birthday cake contest' in New Zealand and won.
I do a lot of homecooking for my dogs and one of the things I make is meatloaf.
The basic recipe is:
2 cups (cooked) white rice (1 ½ cup water ~ 3/4 cup raw rice)
1 lb ground turkey/chicken
1 egg
1 cup broth
1 cup grated carrot

Smoosh together, put into loaf pan and bake at *375 for one hour
OR 15 minutes (in a glass dish) in the microwave

You can frost it with mashed potatoes, yogurt or cream cheese and add candles of carrot sticks or broccoli spears.  Just have fun with it and add/subtract any ingredients that sound good.

From my Three Dogs Bakery Cookbook.  My dogs loved this!  Making it again for Waylon's birthday.

"Happy Hound Cake"

1-3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup carob powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup canola oil
1 cup honey
4 large egg whites
1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350.  Grease 8 or 9 inch round pan and lightly dust with flour.

Stir together flour, carob powder, and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.Mix oil and honey in a large bowl.  Add egg whites one at a time, continue to beat with electric mixer.  Add the yogurt and vanilla and mix to combine thoroughly.  Add dry ingredients and mix until smooth.  

Spread evenly into cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.


Frosting:

One 8 oz package of low fat cream cheese, softened
3 Tbsp Carob powder
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth.

Here's one I made.  Pups loved it:

Birthday Cake for Pups :

• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 cup soft butter
• 1/2 cup canola oil
• 1 jar baby food, meat, beef, strained
• 4 eggs
• 2 strips beef jerky -- (2 to 3)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour an 8x5x3 inch loaf pan. Cream butter until smooth. Add corn oil, baby food, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
Mix dry ingredients into beef mixture until batter is smooth. Crumble beef jerky and fold into batter. Pour batter into loaf pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes. cool on wire rack 15 minutes. Ice with plain yogurt or cottage cheese.
Store uneaten cake in refrigerator.
