NCBR's Bunker *before and after*
« on: March 23, 2007, 11:43:34 AM »
Bunker is a foster dog in rescue with my organization  -  NorCal Boxer Rescue.
He was picked up on the streets of Sacramento Ca. literally at death's door and taken to a shelter.  We were notified and able to pull and transport him to our vet that same day.  He weighed 26 lbs that day but was literally skin and bones.  It was like petting a picket fence with fur sprayed on it.
Bunker had surgery the next day (with thoughts he probably wouldn't make it).  A large mass of foam, sticks, dirt and rocks was pulled from his stomach.  After surgery he weighed 20 lbs  -  6 lbs of blockage.
Thought you might be interested in a few pictures of his progress.

after a week

a few days ago (he's been here about 2 weeks)

TWO WEEKS??? He's made that much of a recovery in just two weeks? That is amazing! He must have been eating all that stuff because he was starving! :'( I just don't understand how people can let this happen.

But thankfully he's safe now. No matter what happens to him he now knows what it means to be loved and cared for.

Wow he reminds me of Goofy when we got him!  33 pounds, all skin and bones.  He is now 84 and a big lover.

Amazing work you are doing!!!

What an incredible recovery! It makes me so sad that people can let a dog go like that :( Thank goodness he will never have to deal with that again!
