Maryland specialty
« on: September 11, 2007, 02:50:31 PM »
Well , I entered Edy in the Md specialty on Oct 13. I entered in the bred by bitch class . She has been doing really well in handling class so I figured I will give it a try again . I am a bit more nervous - I think it is because of the class I entered .

I know there are some other locals on here , does anyone else plan on going ?

Good luck.  We entered Beas in the show for the last weekend in Sept (only 1 day though) and hopefully the judge will like him (she's a movement judge and he moves wonderfully)

Where is it at? There's always a possibility that we will be going back home sometime soon. I'd love to catch the show and cheer Edy on. Heck, might even be a good excuse to GO home! LOL

Hmmmm ,
Well I entered Edy in the Bred by class and she took 1st place in her class ( only because she was the only one in it ). We went back in for winners and the judge did not even really give her a second look.

She behaved better then I had expected , the judge did not allow bait or toys in the ring . So it was a huge challenge to try and keep her focused on me . A friend outside the ring said she looked good and not too distracted.

There were alot of dogs absent ,more than I have ever seen at a show . There were alot of comments about how the boxers show numbers seem to be dropping .

The good news is that I had Edy evaluated by a prof handler . She liked her . The handler picked out only 1 fault and said that as soon as she matures ( mentally as well  ) she will probably do well . I had a few others who liked her as well . I was told that she has a nice short back , good angles , topline and moves well. And that she is pleasing to look at as well as being happy and enjoying herself in the ring ( no kidding  ).
Then the handler told me that I shoud not even have shown under this judge as he does not like Edy's type . Oh well , we gained the experience .

Over all I was happy with the day . Edy showed better than before , she had a few good evaluations .
And I got to see Sedona , http://www.arribatali.com/sedona.html he is great in the pics I have seen of him but he is absolutely gorgeous  :smitten: in the flesh and fur .he took best of breed again btw .
