Calming Recipe
« on: August 14, 2007, 04:37:06 PM »
I found this recipe and tip while doing some surfing last night.  Might have to try it during Boxer Bash!  ha!

This tasty yet light combination of flavors can be added for a nourishing, healthful variation on your companion's usual meal.

cup fresh fennel, finely diced fresh or steamed (warming herb, useful for gas, indigestion, rich in antioxidant quercitin
cup fava Beans (thermal-neutral, tonifies spleen-pancreas and kidney meridians)
1 tbsp cherries, pitted and diced (rich in antioxidants; tone, spleen, liver, kidneys and pancreas)
cup live culture plain yogurt.

Combine the ingredients gently with a spoon and add to your pet's  meal.

Did you know?
If your dog suffers from tension or anxiety, you can hydrate her food with a warm chamomile tea, rather than plain water, to help calm and relax her prior to stressful events.

good tip!

I hear rescue remedy is good too. Most heath food/ grocery stores carry it. Have not tried it.
