Are cod liver oil tablets ok for dogs?
What do they do?

Funny they are in a tablet form, I prefer feeding my dogs the oil as itself...oil.   I have seen cod liver oil, but never tabs.  Its past of fish oils that are good for dogs, but I prefer the salmon oil myself.

I think (IMO) that you would get better results in the "oil" form than a tablet since the tab is somewhat baked?  May be wrong though, not quite sure!

Gottacha - makes more sense.

If your dog will have no issues with the caplets then go fo it.  I prefer the pump because I just drizzle it on their food, Hanna hates pills of any sorts!!!

I gave my dog before Arbie Cod liver oil all of his life. He lived till he was sixteen. Mind you he was a mongrel. I just gave it out of a bottle, he loved it spooned onto his food.
I don't give Arbie any as the food he is on already has it in it.

Joyce, It helps keep their coat in good condition (the original reason I started to give it my dog as he had eczema and it prevented alot of visits to the vets for expensive consultations and creams).  It helps keep bones healthy, good to give a dog with arthritus. It can help keep the heart healthy. I'm sure there are other good properties but these are the three I know of.

Thanks, I think I am going to have to get some.  I like any natural product that can be used as a preventative for the future.
