It has been my observation over the years that these silly boxers go through a brief phase of mental maturity where they seem a bit more laid back, observant and serious. Then somewhere between 7 and 9 they start reverting back into puppies. Laila is officially in her born-again puppy phase. She is 9 and has become sillier than ever! She has even started playing with toys (of which she didn't even do when she was still a pup) ... sort of, it's more like corn-cobbing then shaking thbem to death.
She will be walking through the living room and all of a sudden she'll snort at me and drop into a play bow, then she just flops onto her side and starts scoochin' around on her back like a wiggle worm. Then she freezes and after a minute or two with no movement she jumps up and lays down on the sofa. I love this new extra silly phase, however this side of her is also mischievous and has gotten in trouble for counter surfing and getting into trash.
