longer nose boxer?
« on: November 20, 2014, 11:13:16 AM »
I am wondering if it is possible for a pure boxer to have a longer nose? Would it be from poor beeding or would there bea mix in there or really no way to know? Pics would be helpful.

I have a little girl I picked up as a stray and I am very curious about her longer nose. She has the right mouth and a few wrinkles and the deep groove between the eyes but not like my Isis who is very obviously boxer.

Some boxers can be "pure bred" with longer noses.
Mom to:
Beasley (flashy fawn male) born 11/15/2005
Peanut (classic brindle female) born 2/15/2009
Evan (two legged brunette male) born 4/20/2011

Yes, the short nose is one of the first things to go with shoddy breeding. Everything from a little longer to "schnauze-oola". There was a Boxer in a parked car the other day. Clearly a Boxer, but clearly poorly bred.  Very long nose and extremely weak black mask.

Cleopatra is definitely a boxer mix and she look a little like my Lucy when she was a pup. Lucy is half boxer her daddy was a white boxer who got out of his yard.

Purebreds can have longer noses to a certain degree. Cleopatra looks to be a boxer mix though- not just the nose/facial structure but also the ears seem to lack most of the pigment. She's still adorable and looks like a sweety!

Ditto - the black mask is weaker than even normal "weak" pigment, doesn't go up very high. Looks like a mix. She's cute!

I am lucky enough that she has the typical boxer attitude and sweetness. She is making a wonderful addition to our family.

My Rubi's nose is much longer than the standard, but seems like every part of the standard is just extreme with her anyway. She was from a BYB, both parents on site and looked to be very poorly bred boxers. She is a boxer, but there's a possibility that there's another dog in her lines somewhere. Your girl does look to be a mix, but looks about as sweet as they can come. Very cute!
