Poor Little, just feeling better and then it was time to spay her (and take that liver sample). I opted for an ovary-only spay. The uterus is intact but the risk of pyometra is negligible because the ovaries are no longer influencing it.
The process is less invasive because it can be done laparoscopically with a small incision and the surgeon isn't working near the urethra and some major blood supply areas. The trauma is supposed to be less and recovery time should be quicker (7-10 days). Unfortunately for her, the first 2 days are still going to be pretty damned rough because of the liver biopsy. Her incision is also slightly bigger because they needed access to the liver - but still smaller than a traditional spay.
She's feeling pretty darned crappy. Cried when I (slowly!) went over train tracks on the way home and then didn't want to sit up so I could lift her out of the car:

When I got her in the house, she asked to go outside. I thought she was peeing, but she just sat down really awkwardly. Then she sunk down and stayed there for a while. But then jumped up and yelped when Dash sniffed her (from a foot away).

I force fed her the pain meds about an hour ago and she just ate some chicken and egg, so she's starting to get more comfortable. Still heartbreaking to watch!
