You know your a dog mom first when....
« on: August 19, 2013, 03:24:46 PM »
You tell your 22 month old toddler to "Leave it!!" when she has something she shouldn't.  I haven't told her to sit or stay yet...but I am sure that will come.  :laugh4:

...and no...it didn't work any better with a child then when I tell one of the dogs to leave it.  ::)

I've done that. And I've told Evan to sit and to stay. Didn't work so well.

LOL I have told a friend's kid to "sit stay" and even a "no!" (when gone to reach something they shouldn't have)....get the same look from them that I get from the dogs. That's too funny!

I've used the command "Stay" with my kids since they were little and I still do. The thing that was pointed out to me one day was that I don't just tell them to stay I use the same hand signal that I do for the dogs...... and it works! I also whistle for my children (and my mom) when we are at a grocery store and I'm ready to leave and don't see them anywhere. It comes in handy at home, the kids can hear the whistle from down in the corrals.  :smash:

I told a couple of my nephews to sit and stay like I am talking to one of the dogs. It is what comes out of my mouth naturly. LOL
