Made it through surgery....now for the healing...
« on: March 02, 2013, 04:03:13 PM »
I think that trying to keep Leroy calm and quiet while he is healing is worse than waiting for the surgery! I'm a little late, Leroy had his most recent MCT removed on Thursday. I took Friday off to be with him & am incredibly bored all I can do is watch TV or sleep to keep him sleeping!! I've tried to get a few things done around the house but he just wants to follow me everywere!  :smitten: Surgery went well & vet feels good that she got clean margins, but when the vet warns you not to freak out when you see the incision you know its bad!!  I knew it would be big but its worse than I thought, incision is about 8-9 inches & ugly (as you see in pic). Today is day 3 and it is looking really good on the top half but the part right behind his arm pit is still pretty red & puffy & seeping. It's not puss and vet said that a little seepy is ok, so I think we are good. I am just keeping clean towels on all of the furniture & doggie beds. Of course Sunday is the one day that the vet is closed so  :fingerscrossed: it continues to look better.

Poor buddy all crashed out

Oh poor Leroy! Sending lots of easy healing and quick recovery vibes. And lots and lots of good results for clean margins.

That's a big incision! Poor guy. That's close to where Lucky had his MCT a couple years ago. I hope Leroy heals quickly and without incidents.

Poor Leroy! I know what you're going through. Chowder's incision was also seepy at one end. My vet said that was normal, and just keep it clean. It drained for quite sometime, but had stopped by the time the stitches came out at two weeks. I'm sure Leroy will be good as new in no time!

Thanks for all the  :fingerscrossed: The incision is looking better, still draining I just keep putting clean towels all over the couches & dog beds. I had to leave him alone today & had to keep Wizard seperated. So Leroy is inside & Wizard is outside, Leroy does not like to be locked in alone so hopefully my fat kitty keeps him company!

he is all healed up FINALLY! We had to go through new stitches 3 times & a whole month of healing, no playing & keeping him seperated from Wizard. But he is back to his spazzy self  :beam:
