Delta's BN Debut
« on: March 01, 2013, 08:37:11 PM »
We got our first leg with a 182.  I'm not entirely satisfied with our performance, but I've already had several wise souls tell me not to be so hard on myself.  It is my first time back in the ring since Xena (which was kinda sad) and I've got to get back into the swing of things.  Delta's still a pup (approx. 2 weeks shy of a year) and she's coming along nicely.

One thing that wasn't "us" that happened, though, was while we were setting up for the Sit-Stay, a woman was rustling around at a table just outside the ring.  You can see her staring that way in the video. Delta hasn't been wary about people doing "weird" things before, but for some reason this caught her attention and she only want to sit facing the woman.  I know sometimes quiet show settings make the dogs more nervous about being exposed in a big open ring.

Next week we start a proofing class to get more polished. I'll also be trying to get more time working her in new and interesting places - our club trainer says she's "nosy" and needs practice working when there are curious things going on. Not sure when our next time in the ring will be - there is a show in 1 1/2 months that is only an hour away (another rare close-by show) but I might want more time than that.

WooHoo Delta Dawg!!!!! I think you guys did GREAT! Sure, you could nitpick, but why? Right? ;) You got out there and got a pretty darn score and with a young pup, that's pretty awesome!

Congrats on your first leg, Delta and Julia!!! There's plenty more to come and celebrate in the coming years!

Congrats Julia   I certainly think she did a great job for her age, and at least now you know what to work on and improve for the future.
