TOTW problems
« on: November 07, 2012, 08:52:10 AM »
I went back to raw for a while after the big recall . But with feeding 2 (  Remy eats 3# per day & Edy 1 1/2 #) it gets really expensive so I went back to TOTW .

I have noticed that both Edy & Remy are scratching more than normal . I keep checking them to be sure no fleas or other reasons for the scratching and I can't find any.

Has anyone else noticed and problems with their dogs on TOTW lately?
I am wondering if they changed something in their ingredients since the recall but I don't have an old bag to compare to.

I still feed TOTW, and have not seen any changes in my dogs. I also give them fish oil, and garlic on a daily basis.

I also feed TOTW.  I also use fish oil and garlc daily.  I have noticed her scratching more in the past month.  I think it is the change in the weather?  Her allergies are much worse right now and I am giving her Claritin every morning.

Fish oil is supposed to be good for their heart and makes their coat nice and shiney.  I think it is the changing season with Precious.  I will wait until a good hard freeze and see if it goes away.  If not I might switch foods and see if that helps.  She doesn't scratch successively but a lot more than she has in previous years.

I feed TOTW with occasional raw and home cooked and have not noticed any changes.
I would venture to say it's probably the change in weather, unless you have recently changed laundry soap or shampooed your carpet/rugs. I know that Laila gets itchy when we use certain laundry soaps (she's lays on our blankets all the time).

Nothing changed with the exception of the heat being turned on . They never had any problems with the heat coming on before , they both love to lay in front of the fireplace & wood burning stove and I never noticed the scratching like they are now.

I'm not aware that they changed anything. But at the store I work out I know we are having more complaints about it than we use to have. And we don't sell near as much of it as we use to either....

Makes you wonder.
