Missing Link
« on: November 07, 2011, 03:29:39 PM »
I got Missing Link for Dixie today but it I'm not sure how much to give her. 1 tablespoon for every 25lbs but she's around 40-42lbs. So should I give her 1 and a half? More, less? Also, does anyone else use this? Do you like it? Thanks!

Oops! I meant 1 TEAspoon for every 25lbs. Haha! Sorry.

I would start her on it slowly , maybe a pinch to start off with .  Then work up to the amount on the package .

I give supplements but Missing Link is not one of them.  It really is not a great choice of supplements IMO, not the worse, but there are better ones out there.  I would give her 1.5 tsp for now. Start slowly building up to that or you may find you get an adverse reaction, like the big D.

BoxerPerson, do you have any suggestions on a better one? I was unaware that it wasn't very good.

A good choice is Dogzymes at Natures Farmacy:

But feeding a well balanced diet, usually doesn't require any additions - a good quality kibble, will give you the results you are looking for.

I homecook and feed raw and I feed 1 meal of Taste of the Wild, usually Pacific Stream, but not exclusively since I like to rotate the protien a bit.  Raw is mostly venison, beef heart, beef kidneys or chicken and the chix innards along with some veggies that have been pureed or run thru the grinder and about 1 egg shell finely ground is included with each meal.  Everyday the pups get vinegar and garlic with each meal to help with preventing flea/ticks and mosquito bites, blue algae is also added 1 time a day, as is 1/2 tsp of tumeric per meal.

If you would like more information, PM me.
