Some great moments today- ACNH AKC agility
« on: August 07, 2011, 08:28:16 PM »
Strummer and I competed today at the Agility Club of NH's trial (AKC). One day only as we got wait listed yesterday. We have been working on a lot of new things such as increasing our overall speed and layering more obstacles.
With all of this new training our contacts have been less than stellar for the past 3 trials and lost a few "Q's" to this. But now... I feel as though it's starting to all come together. We have/can get the speed, we need the control now and keep a good balance of the 2  :)
I was happy with his EX Jumpers run but I think he may have slipped on the floor into the weaves causing him to pop out at pole 10. Even though we did not place, I feel we had a few great moments and many personal "Q's" (like nailing his contacts!!) We are having tons of fun and figuring it all out. He's getting way more confident and he runs soo much different than Sophia...I need to keep that in mind. I'm taking the summer off with her for now.

So, a few clips from today.

Some good runs.......congrats

Trigger and I have not done much competing this year - but we will this fall when it cools down a bit - but still I am noticing huge changes (in class and when we do compete) - he is getting so much more confident, and working further away from - it is just great to see. I am glad to see that you guys are having similiar success.

Thanks Guys. It's all starting to click and we are close to achieving our summer's goals.
He's having a blast and I'm lucky he loves it and has natural drive for it.

Kerry, maybe it's their age...? Now that he's had a full year of trialing and he 3 I think he's starting to really understand the game and love'n it.
We only have been doing 1-2 trials a month due to my job situation. We have one at the end of the month, 1 in Sept and 2 in Oct.
keep me posted on how Trigger is doing. I wish we lived closer to trial together!
