Dark Brindles & Red Fawns

Seemed to be the "it" thing I noticed this year.  Well its my first actual show but I did notice TONS of dark brindles and a more "red" toned fawns this year at the ABCs.   

Is it just maybe a trend?  Or do they see some of those hues winning and decided to go with it???

Don't they use the term "Red" for the UK lines?

They use "red" instead of "fawn" in the UK; here we use "red" to describe a certain shade of fawn.    I think it's not so much that the colors are winning, but that the dogs who are producing those colors are winning.   King, for example, is a popular dog, and so more people are breeding to him and thus producing puppies with his coloring.

A certain little RED brindle got noticed 

Wierd, when I was looking for a black brindle, nobody had them avail nor were looking to breed for it, six years later, they are everywhere.

Never cared for the dark Brindle until I owned one...Next one I get will be dark brindle...

Romy has that red, almost mahogany color.  Being fairly new to the boxer breed, I was surprized that so many people comment on her color.  Her fur is a lot thicker than either of my fawn boys too.  I figured that was just poor breeding as she was a byb rescue.  But what do I know.  I don't care, she's still my beautiful girl!
