cassette holters
« on: February 09, 2011, 03:28:28 PM »
I have heard a few rumors that the cassette holters are being fazed out of the systems...?  Does anyone know how true this is?
I guess I need to start saving some beans for a digital if so!

I've heard the same thing. As cassette holters are getting older, and unable to repair. Plus the equipment to read the cassette is getting older.

Eventually, yes - but I don't think anytime soon.

Well, that is at least good that it is not in the immediate future!  My local Boxer club just got a digital from a local lab, but the cost for it is $150 per dog... same kind of reading as Alba...  I don't think it being digital should cause the cost to be that high, so I am assuming it is just the cost from that particular lab.  I know I like how tiny the digitals are compared to the cassettes!

Well, Sarah rub that in.. LOL....
Heather and I went in on our cassette several years ago now.. so it has definitely paid for itself... It is so nice to have one though, even for my friends to be able to have access!  I will definitely replace it when the time comes!!!!

Digitals are about the size of a pager.

Alba's cost is $30 for a reading, whether it's cassette or digital. I believe with digital, you have to use the lab from whom you purchased the equipment because they all have different software.

I will too Sarah. I try to keep an eye on ebay for them...
How often do those of you that have a cassette recorder replace your cables?
