Boxer in nj
« on: December 08, 2010, 12:37:44 PM »
This was on craigslist today....I emailed her to call other esuce..I cannot take her right now...

I have a female purebred boxer in need of a new home asap. We are having her put down this Friday, this is a last ditch effort. She CANNOT stay in our home any longer. She fights with our existing male 10 year boxer, she does not understand young children and we have 2 young children (she has growled at them a few times) . She is brindle, 7 years old and up to date on shots. Had her since a pup and if the circumstance were different she would stay with us. I can even deal with the fighting, it's the unknown around the kids that fears me. Boxer Rescues will not take her (they are full and she is too old), shelters will not take her (full), everywhere is full. She would be a great dog for the 1 dog house and NO young children, no other animals. Very obedient and listens well. She loves adults. Needs a fully fenced in yard to run around in. I have been trying at this for several months and now its come to this. She attacked my male boxer (unprovoked) right next to my 4 year old the other day, knocked her down, ripped up her leg and foot. It terrifies my kids when she starts these fights. Anybody feeling the need to vent their JUDGING can go elsewhere, you will be ignored, anyone with a Re-Homing SOLUTION contact me. People in the rescue industry are telling us the humane thing to do is euthanize her. Just trying one last shot. I am desparate to re-home her but am not just handing her over without interview and reference check etc.

I find this hard to believe! I have never heard a rescue tell an owner this! Makes me so mad!  :furious3:

That is so sad. I know I couldn't help. Macie is too much of a strong female to allow a female like that one in.

This was her reply to me..Hope she can find this dog a home...

I did try second chance boxer rescue back several months ago. i found them to be unsympathetic to the issue and that they would 'look" around but never heard back from them. I will research Northeastern and contact them. thank you for your concern!!

Adopt a Boxer Rescue does from MD to CT, so hopefully they will be able to help her, if not point her in the right direction.  I haven't heard back from her, but hopefully I do soon.
