Going in the rain
« on: April 08, 2010, 11:47:45 AM »
Isis hates the rain. No real surprise there it is cold and wet  :sick2: I got her to go wee but no luck yet with poo. Any tricks that I could use to get her to go before we have a oppsy in the house?  :help:

Walk her around the yard on leash.  Stop and tell her 'go potty' in the same spot every time.  Praise the heck out of her when she goes and she will catch on quick enough.  Definitely keep her on leash and going to the same spot every time.

Precious hates the rain too.  I have to go out with her or she won't go.  She does potty on command so I go out with my umbrella and keep saying go pooders, go, go, go.  Neighbors laugh at me.

The princess won't EVER go outside unless I go with her.  I guess that is from when her previous owners had her locked outside with frozen water 24-7.

Beasley is a princess too. Hates getting wet for any reason (unless its at the beach).  He'll hold it and hold it until he's about to burst.  I've had to drag him out to go potty sometimes

I just push 'em out...Seriously tho, when Hailey  was a baby she would not go outside either if it was raining or cold...I did exactly what Vicky and Joyce said.  Leash her and waklk her and stay outside with her until she does go!

She held it as long as she could and finally tip toed out just far enough to go. I did do the leash so that she couldnt run back up onto the porch.

Poor thing it is almost 60 here even though it is raining so it isnt like she was going to freeze to death but you couldnt tell her that she was shaking like a leaf by the time she came in  :brrr:

Oh the sad looks I was getting :laugh4: I could almost hear her thoughts "But I dont wanna, it's WET! Dont you see this water!?!?!"

Good news. :partybanana:  Poor little thing was just like a kid and waited until the last minute to let you know and probably couldn't hold it to get out to the yard.
