Question...I've heard mixed reviews about giving dogs garlic.  Some say it's ok, some say it's not.  So what's the verdict?

I *think* most of the people on here that lean towards "natural" rearing are okay with using garlic.  I used it on mine all last summer (instead of Frontline or whatever) and only saw 2 fleas.

Now I have Griff on a probiotic that includes brewer's yeast (Bella is on a special anti-yeast protocol for her allergies, not sure what I'm going to do with her) which is also supposed to be good for flea/tick prevention, so I am not sure if or how I'll be giving any garlic this year.

I give garlic year round...it does help keep fleas off.  I do not use frontline or any other flea preventative but garlic, which I add to their food.

I use a crushed clove or dried garlic...I have never lost a pup to garlic...and I have never had a dog get sick from it either.

Mercedes - Garlic in large amount is bad for dogs, but the very small amount you feed for flea/tick prevention is not considered harmful.

I'm considering this product, sounds good - How many of you have actually used this particular product? I'm wondering if they get garlic breath or anything, lol!

I think I might look into this as well. Bugs are bad here and I usually use dried garlic...but this looks like a steal.
