I just bought Cali Natural for my girlies, chicken and rice. Maybe I shouldn't open the bag, maybe I should return it and buy a grain-free food. I was planning to start homecooking soon, maybe I should do it sooner. Koda can't eat just anything!

I know, I was going to pick up new food for Zoe this weekend, I am afraid to do anything with grain in it! I have been wanting to switch her to the premade raw, maybe now is the time!

One dog with kidney failure is enough, ya know?

I hear that! I was going to trade the big bag of Natural Balance that I just bought for a bag of Wellness SFS, but I just went and checked the ingredients:

Ground Brown Rice, Duck, Brown Rice Protein,

:wall: At least the NB doesn't have any grains, just potatoes, so maybe it's safer to stick with it instead. :wreck:

So should we be wary of anything that has rice or rice gluten/grans, etc?

T - I would think not, but I'm not sure. "Bran" is usually the hull or the fiberous part of a grain.

Okay this is getting scary!! I wasn't scared before, because mostly crappy food was on the list, but now NB?!

My babies are on Cali. Natural Lamb and Rice, and Koda for the first time since he was born pretty much is having normal BM's, and that is the only food I have found in all 3 years of Lilly's life that she actually LIKES!  What to do?!

Lindsay, I don't know! Surely the bag he's eating now is fine, or there would have been symptoms. If you're running low you could maybe homecook for him until things settle down. I am really upset about the NB thing, but it's hard to make quick decisions for my Koda because of all his problems. What to do, what to do???

I think I'm going to switch our dogs sooner than I thought.  I'm sure I can convince Josh since the NB food is run through Diamond Food's machinery and plant (and we buy Diamond).  I might have to go out and buy some Canidae or Wellness or Fromms this weekend at my new favorite store.  Better safe than sorry.

We've got a little less than 1/2 of the bag left.  I really hate to switch since things are going so well, but I certainly don't want them getting KD either!

I wish there was a place here to get premade raw.  But none of our local stores do it
