Too Big?
« on: March 28, 2007, 02:45:35 PM »
The owner of the female boxer that we saw yetsterday said that the father was a champion male who is 85 pounds (sounds like what we were told about Cassie's Dad). I think I remember someone saying that it was fairly large for a boxer. I would just like to confirm that is the case

Yes, that's fairly large - but there are some factors.  How old is the dog now, and how much did he weigh when he was actively showing? :)  The largest Champion Boxer I know personally, who really is quite huge, was right around 80 lbs. at show weight - but older males do tend to thicken up and so may be 10 lbs. or so higher than they were in their prime.

Hmmm I'm not sure. But apparently the brother of this female we met is currently 85 Lbs.  It just doesn't sound right to me at 10 months 85 pounds?  He must be over weight. She looked pure boxer to me.

Ick, a 10 mo old should definitely not be 85lbs! They aren't even typically to their "grow out" stage at 10 mos old!

That's what I thought.  I think Cassie and this other female (I cannot rember her name) have the same father cause we were given the exact same information regarding the Cassie's dad.  These people advertise their dog for a stud dog too.
