Non-agility agility class brag
« on: December 07, 2008, 08:52:16 PM »
This Friday at the end of class, we practiced Dash's polite meeting behavior with Janet (agility trainer) - I loaded her up with goodies and she fed him for offering his default down, progressed to asking for sits, then walking by while I walked him (off-leash). He jumped up a couple times, but never did long stints of annoying jumping. Just sort of lost himself for a moment, jumped, then quickly corrected when she walked away. He did SO well.. 15 minutes of treat feeding and lovins from Janet without any major misbehavior!

Oh and kind of a brag - our current problem is working on Dash's obstacle focus, because she says his focus on me is SO good  :smitten:, he has trouble breaking it to go to an obstacle sometimes.  :laugh4:

good work. Sounds like he's doing much better.

Does he always spaz out when he meets people?

Oh yes... jumping, pawing, sometimes nipping. It's like he's overwhelmed with happiness and wants to maul them with love. Novelty overexcites him, especially novel people and animals.
