Capone's head
« on: September 29, 2008, 04:09:50 PM »
This is a side shot of Capone from this weekend. I finally got a pic of him standing still ans at attention because the cat was eating. lol

This is Faerdorn Fineas Fogg his Great Grandsire I think.

Can someone please point out the differences and similarities between the two of them?
Thanks
Vicky

I think part of the problem is Fineas' head shot isn't a "profile"...so it's hard to tell

Well, I could have picked that one out myself.

Fineas' head looks so much more beefy (for lack of a better word).  Maybe it's because Capone is so young.

Capone's head does look "younger"... less padding, less "bone" than Granddad.

As Heather mentioned, hard to go point by point since Fineas is more at a 3/4 angle.

Seems the Capone's muzzle is longer...but I could be confusing it with a lack of turnup because I do get those mixed up.  Capone is lacking turnup right now...but that could change as he matures.  I think a more fair comparison would be made when his head has matured....

Yeah, I think it would be very hard to compare them now because Capone is still a puppy. His head will change a lot as he matures.

I prefer Capone's muzzle length but I'm more partial to the length of North American lines.  Short Euro muzzles look too Bull Doggish instead of Boxerish in my opinion.  I've always felt that NA heads look more like the Munich silhouette.  He's very handsome. :smitten:

They're two very different heads...at this point anyway. Capone reminds me of Ruby when she was about 7-8 months of age (funny because Spike is Ruby's great-grandsire as well...also her great, great-grandsire). :)
