Title: Could it be.........
Post by: linz and ellie on May 21, 2007, 04:02:32 PM
I have just thought that Ellie only started with the soiling her pen problem after she had her spay? Could the spay be related to this problem in any way?

Yes it can , I have heard of dogs not being able to control urination , and will go without even knowing it .  I am sure Jennifer (NewCastle) might have more information on it .  She is a Wealth of Information .... ;D

There is a condition called spay incontinence, but it's my understanding that it only occurs several months after a spay because it's caused by the removal of the hormones. Since the hormones are still in her body for several months you wouldn't notice the problem right away. I think it also happens more often in older dogs. Some people have luck feeding fresh parsley for spay incontinence.

Missy developed spay incontinence.  She has harmones for it.  You space them out as far apart as you can without any accidents.  Missy takes 1 every 7 days.
