Title: Boxers Eligible for Herding -- 1/1/12
Post by: Newcastle on November 12, 2011, 09:02:34 AM
Finally, it's official!! From the AKC:

Quote
I am pleased to inform you that the Board approved the recommendation of the Performance Events Department for Boxers to be eligible to participate in AKC Herding tests and trials effective January 1, 2012 contingent upon the Parent Club or at least one local Boxer specialty club becoming licensed to hold herding events.

Congratulations.  I look forward to seeing Boxers participating in AKC Herding events.

Doug Ljungren
AVP of Performance Events

The Boxer Club of San Fernando Valley will be applying for a license to hold herding events (and I've no doubt they'll get it, they've held events already and their members were instrumental in getting this AKC approval).

I am a member of the BCSF. I will let everyone know when we get our license and when the first event will be held. We already have a herding instinct test being held in
December, but it is not an AKC event. It should be fun. Can hardly wait to hold a full trial!
