Title: Resources for Information on AR Groups
Post by: Newcastle on January 22, 2009, 12:45:13 PM
PETA
A good place to start is
http://www.petakillsanimals.com/

One of the links from that site is
http://www.activistcash.com/organization_overview.cfm/oid/21

Charity Navigator lists the overview of revenues/expenditures:
http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=4314

And PETA's own Form 990 (federal tax return, FYE 7/07) shows specifics:
http://wikileaks.org/leak/peta-form990-2007.pdf

(Note that the $25,417,759 for "Program Expenses" includes salaries and employee benefits, supplies, telephones, postage and shipping, legal fees, rent, etc. - these include the general operating expenses, not expenses solely for whatever programs they have.)

Okay, so I was reading through the activist cash webiste...and decided to check out some of the other groups they have info on.  The problem is...NONE of the links work to get anywhere but the PETA page.  This doesn't really look good.....I had thought it would be a source of unbiased info since it talked about other groups.  A PETA-supporter will look at this and say it is a website fabricated to trash PETA..... ::)

Nevermind...they work now.  There must have just been some server issues with their site.
