Stori is pottytrained at our current house but when we take her out to pee, she barely makes it to the grass (usually after waking up in the morning).  We are moving to an apartment in December and I realized that it's a bit of a walk from our apartment to outside.  I'm afraid of her peeing in the hall on the way outside.  Any tips on getting her used to the apartment and the length of time to take to get outside?

She may just be letting loose as soon as she hits the grass because she knows it's okay to pee there - she might understand that she has to wait to get to the grass in the new place as well.

I definitely think you may end up having to do some "re-training" with her, beause even older dogs who are fully house-broken sometimes have issues adjusting to a move.

I agree with Brady, Otis usually pees on at the first available spot when he gets outside...which is itrritating because it's usually on my hosta's brood

Agreed - Dash sometimes pee just one step off the deck, but it is because he has to go and knows he can. When he's had to wait a short time longer, he's managed.

The retraining will probably be more related to the change in routine - different door she's supposed to signal at or go out, etc.

Thanks guys.  Is there anything else I can do to make the transition to a new place easier for her?  My fiance has the first few days off work so he can be with her but routine wise we'll try to keep everything pretty much normal like when she wakes up in the morning what time breakfast will be etc.

You might have to go back to basic puppy potty training with her (taking her out more often etc..) until she is settled in...or maybe not, she may do just fine shrug
