Up until a few months ago I had NO skin care routine - just lotion if I felt dried out, which wasn't often.

Since I'm turning 30 in January I figured I should probably take better care of my skin. I've been using the Burt's Bees facial cleanser (both the orange essence and the soap bark & chamomile), which I love. They feel so good and work really well.

I only wear makeup a few days a week, and I don't ever remove it for bed (I'm baaaaaad). I don't remember the brand I'm using, but it's one of the mineral ones. I just do a touch of foundation because I have a reddish skintone, but the redness comes through anyways. I never ever ever wear blush, for god's sakes I surely don't need it. I also do liner and mascara. Occasionally I might do shadow.

I've had dark circles under my eyes for years, and I've given up on concealer. I guess I don't know how to find the right shade or something, because it always sticks out like a sore thumb. I just used a tiny tiny bit, so it's not like i was overapplying it or anything.

Leanne - Not sure if it's true or not, but I read once in a book (crime novel, actually  blush) that the trick to good under eye concealer is getting something with a slight yellow/green tinge. I guess to counteract the darkness?

Yellowish tint for darkness.....green tint for redness (i.e. blemishes).

That's what I've always heard anyway.

It actually depends on your skin tone to find the right concealer.

I guess I don't have too much of a routine, I use a natural goat's milk and oatmeal soap on my face in the shower, and Mary Kay hydrating cream after my shower. And I usually use either Aveeno or Bath and Body Works Mandarin/Mango lotion for my hands.

I have the same trouble with concealers, they just make the circles look more noticeable.  If I wanted to look like an owl, it'd be just fine.... Roll Eyes  I gave up on them and just put powder on them.

Since I went to our dermatologist a few months ago, I followed her recommendation and started using Neutrogena's Deep Clean for normal/oily skin.  Morning and night and at night I use the Metrogel she prescribed.  I'm shocked and amazed at how much better my face has been!  For make up, I stick with all Body Shop products.  Their new mineral foundation and eyeshadows are FABULOUS!  I dearly love them! They also have a tea tree concealer that I like!  And I always use a Vit. C moisterizer with SPF 15 in it. I had my spider veins zapped back in early Oct. and I'm pretty happy that my 50 year old (soon to be 51 next week) face looks as good as it does!
