The most updated info on the echo clinic at the regional in Frederick md . And the spaces do go quiclky .
An Echocardiogram Clinic will be offered by board-certified veterinary
cardiologist Dr. Luis Braz-Ruivo. Cost is $150 per dog for pre-registration
by Sept 15 and $160 after this date. Space is limited so sign up early to
guarantee an appointment. The reservation form was in the last Bulletin and
it is also on the ABC website.

Thanks, Missi! I still haven't figured out if we'll be going or not, but good to know they still have space available. Hopefully we can find out soon, before all the spaces are gone.

Well if you don't make this one there will be one in the Spring that I plan on taking Millie to .

Is that the one in Bowie? Right down the street from my inlaws, so that's definitely on the radar if this one doesn't work out. I think they did it in Bowie this past spring too, didn't they? I remember seeing, but wasn't sure if it's every year.

Yes, Dr Braz will usually have a clinic every spring and fall at his office in Bowie .
I am not sure if the specialty clinic counts as his fall clinic though .

I know this is an old topic....but was wondering if anyone's heard about the spring clinic in Bowie yet? If I'm going to send Grady to it, I want to get it on the radar nice and early so I can take off work.
Please keep me posted if/when you hear anything. Thanks!

Nevermind...Found it!
April 3rd & 4th - now I'm not sure as we're heading to a wedding a week later. But atleast now I know.
But here's my question....the information says "This clinic is being conducted for screening of congenital or acquired heart disease for breeding purposes only." - what if I don't plan on breeding?? Is that an issue or are they just stating this since they say they won't be giving information for treatment, etc?

They are not taking/screening dogs who are already patients and are wanting to use the clinic as part of their routine care . If you do not plan on breeding then that does not matter . But having the tests run will help the breeders of the dogs being tested .So it is still helping a breeding program.
I have taken 2 of mine to Dr Braz at his clinics . I did have questions both times and he did answer them . So it is not like he won't answer any questions .
Now if a dog did not pass the test then I believe he would have you come back for further cosultation and medication if needed.

Thanks, Missi!
But if there is something wrong (
not that I expect there to be), would it be a problem being out of state? I figured if something did show up and further consultation, medication, etc was needed then I could take his info and bring it to my cardio's here for them to see him.

I am sure you could take your report and bring it to any cardiologist in your area and they could work with you . They might want to re-do the echo though if i was a serious problem.
