Thought I would give an update on how Zoe is feeling these days.  We had to take her off the Pred because it was making her like a zombie. We discussed it with out vet and she said it would be ok, we felt that we would rather have her be herself for whatever time she has left.  We are doing the Tagament/Benedryl twice a day in hopes to shrink the tumor a little.

She has been eating like a pig.  She gets her own meatloaf 2 times a day and also grainless dog food for lunch.  She gets a slew of supplements and goodies along with her food.  She is slowly getting her energy back...she is begging to go for walks and starting to play again.  She is a little slow to get up some mornings, I don't know if that's the progression of the cancer...or just Zoe being Zoe.  Wink  I have really tried to not dwell on the inevitable and focus more on the day to day happiness of her.

So all in all ... she is doing really well right now.  I appreciate all the support everyone has shown us the last month.   sweetheart

I agree....spending time with her as the "real" Zoe would be so much better than spending time with her being too drugged up to act like her normal self.  I am really sorry for what you're going through.

Kristen I know what you mean and I think you are doing the absolute best for Zoe.  One of the reasons I chose to deal with Goofy's tumor holistically and NOT to do the surgery was the quality of life issue.  I was given 3 - 4 months of recoup time for 6 months, possibly a year of life.  So far I am into 7 months w/out the surgery and have hopes that he will make his 8th birthday in April.

You and Zoe are in my prayers

Kristin, I'm glad you are just letting Zoe be herself.  That's certainly the way you want to remember her.  Continued hugs for you and Al, and please give Zoe a kiss from me.

Thanks everyone! Yeah we really just want her to be happy and if that means she is with us a shorter time...then so be it.  In the end it's all about her happiness...not ours.  Smiley
