Petey Needs a Foster Home

A very good friend of mine is in a situation and needs to look into rehoming her white boxer, Petey, for a few months (if not permanently). She's been given 2 weeks notice that her husband is getting a permanent job in Utah and is leaving this week (Thursday). Petey is a GREAT dog, doesn't really like cats, but is in need of a home til she comes back around Christmas and may end up taking him back to Utah....or may have to make the awful decision to let him find a permanent home somewhere else. She hates to have to do this and it breaks her heart deeply to leave him for the next few months.
But if anyone knows of anyone in the Charlotte or North Carolina area who would be interested in temporarily rehoming Petey, or may end up keeping him permanently....please let me know. I am also contacting the local boxer rescue, but I know their foster homes are pretty much full and not even sure if they'd be willing to foster him with the possibility of only holding him for a few months or possibly ending up in a permanent need.
This is Petey. He's about 4 years old but was probably about 2 in these pics. They're from when Rubi and Petey had a playdate.
He has a brown ear, and one blue eye. Sucha sweet dog.
I'd foster him if I had the room.

that you find Petey a foster home on a temporary basis and he gets to go back home with his family.

Actually....he's going home to Momma this week! My friend was able to find a friend that would keep him (so he was out of the kennel and in a nice warm home) for a few weeks. She is back in town this week to bring Petey home (as well as get a bunch of the stuff they left behind). They are still in their condo, but are on a search to find a new place by the end of this week - her hubby is still out there lookin. They couldn't stand not having Petey with them and with it being so difficult to have a temp foster home and having Petey missing them....they are doing what they can to get their boy back to Utah ASAP.
Thanks for asking. I'm meeting up with her either tonite or tomorrow for dinner, before she gets on the road to head back.
