I must be feeling hormonal because I teared up too. 

I could imagine that from my old rescue girl Tyra.  She definitely rescued me.  I was going through marital troubles and was feeling unloved at the time I got her.  From the time we brought her home, she never left my side.  I used to call her my shadow.

RIP ol' girl, RIP.
