They have already modified the test a few times, in part bc the standard was seen as too difficult by everyday people....The test has gotten easier, lucky for some...Its a club not perfect, I am not going to get upset that they require a walk stay...my two will nail it....

AKC modified or your club modified? I think I remember hearing that AKC might have, but I couldn't tell from your answer if that is what you meant.

BTW, I didn't mean to say that you should be "upset" that your club requires more - I just wanted to be sure that those who might read this thread later know what the AKC requires.  It'd be very intimidating for Joe DogOwner to think a walking stay was required for a simple "good manners" certificate. I know folks who take my club classes often struggle with the minimums the AKC puts forth.

Yes I meant AKC changed the test about 8 years ago I believe ..could of been longer, the old requirements were much harder...From what I hear some clubs in NY are still very strict they adhere to the new test but are unforgiving of whinning or a small whimper/sigh when you leave your dog with a stranger or asking twice for a command, they only allow you to ask once....I have also talked to those whom have gotten away with things like that and passed....

Wow, I must live in an "easy" area of NY, our testers are pretty forgiving.  A small whine or two won't flunk you, so long as the dog can settle down, etc.
