Last night was our second class, we are still learning basics, but we got to do table work and some specific basic moves (they called it the 90 degree turn)...  We had a BLAST, she was really tired after though, and I used almost 2 whole bags of treats.. I gotta make some treats!!! The store bought ones are actually too big, and I don't like the hard ones, cause she has to take the time to chew them!

Anyhow, I really like agility, and I cannot wait till next week to see what we start on then!  Her stays need a lot of work, especially when they got the ball out and started bouncing it for a distraction!  But, he attention is really good as long as she isn't tired!  We still have a long way to go, but it is VERY promising!

Not good for me, I would eat more than I would give her, LOL.. Cheese and pasta are MY weaknesses!!!  Roll Eyes

I got a recipe from the club I am going to play with a little!!  See how I can do with that at home, and if it works good, then I will use it in class...

Kat - Does anyone near you sell Zuke's training treats? They are awesome... something about the size of an M&M, no chewing required, good smell, and quality ingredients!

I had to stop using the NB rolls....they have wheat in them and gave Grady runny eyes - more than normal. Zukes was the same - can't remember, but I think they also had wheat in them too - same thing, really runny eyes and itching his face. We used boiled chicken. He would go nuts for it - well, he goes nuts for any food...but chicken and cheese were awesome for him. We also used the Plato salmon treats. They are totally stinky (REAL stinky) but he worked his butt of for em. I'd cut em into smaller bite size. The bag would be sitting on the dining table and Rubi would crawl her way up there, grab the bag and her and Grady would have a feast if we didn't catch em. LOL

So glad Aggie is doing well! It's so much fun! I can't wait to get back into it.

Dawn:  The Zukes I use is made with rice and barley.. I use the "Mini Naturals" line.

Salmon Flavor:  Salmon, Ground Rice, Ground Barley, Malted Barley, gelatin, vegetable glycerin, tapioca, brewer's yeast, natural flavors, fish oil, lectithin, salt, phosphoric acid (as natural acidifier), sorbic acid (as preservative), mixed tocopherals, ascorbic acid (vitamin C)

If I had to guess, it might be the barley that's bugging Grady? Seems to be not as well tolerated as rice.

I have never seen "Zuke" treats... They LOVE the meat brownies... we will see Monday how they hold her attention!  The liver treats are great, I just break them in halvies... but the crunchies were a pain!
THanks everyone..

They are good if you don't have time to do homemade stuff and come in the perfect size for training.  They are semi-moist - moist enough to be smelly, but still hold shape.

I think I did use those once, cause I still have a small amount in a ziploc, they were perfect for quick goods...  I will have to get more!

Yeh, I think that was it Julia - we always buy the Salmon minis. I knew they had something in them, but wasn't sure that it was wheat. He can tolerate them as a light treat every now and then at home....but when given in classes, he seemed to have those issues pop up. He loved em, Rubi LOVES em, still a good option. We just gotta be carefull with the treats we give.

We had to miss last night, due to Corky's surgery.  I could have scheduled it a different day,but I didn't want to wait, I want to know ASAP the results.....
SO, we are going to keep working on our stays, because that is where she needs her most work right now!
